In the 1950s, French designer Michel Ducaroy created this remarkable lounge chair as part of his very first collection, produced by his own company, SNA Roset. This piece embodies both the discreet elegance and functional modernity that would go on to define his work.
The chair’s open structure, with its soft, refined lines, gives it a light and graceful presence. The seat and backrest are fitted with hexagonal cane straps. The gently curved armrests and slender, tapered legs further highlight the balance and finesse of the design. Conceived to offer both comfort and lightness, it captivates with its cantilevered back and enveloping seat, showcasing a beautiful original patina.
In excellent original condition, with the exception of the caning, which has been fully restored using traditional handwoven caning methods by the skilled artisans of IDDA. This meticulous craftsmanship restores the piece’s full character, blending authenticity with expert know-how.
